PLANit Global for Explorers

How does the platform work?
Each PLANit represents one of the 27 industry sectors.
Explorers search through business and employee profiles to find careers information, decide what industry sectors and job roles inspire them, and see if the business has any opportunities available to them locally.
Explorers can take a short 30 second career quiz to help kickstart their sector search!

Three ways to explore
The platform gives Explorers three different ways to view the platform on any device with internet connection:
  • Careers Infoverse: Displays companies and opportunities in a list format
  • Careers Galaxy: An interactive 3D gaming environment where you explore by flying around the galaxy or you use warp speed to get there faster!
  • Careers Orbit: A carousel of 27 different sectors, with sectors highlighted to showcase specific opportunities.
All options draw from the same business information, ensuring consistency, and all views will offer a link to the business’ website.

Who can benefit from using this platform?
  • Young people aged 10-24 years and those who advise and support them
  • People of all ages looking for local career information
  • Those returning to work or seeking a career change
  • People who may have challenges keeping them from the world of work
  • Businesses looking to engage with local communities

Additional resources: MyPLANit Area
Explorers will be able to save businesses they like to their ‘MyPLANit’ area. They will also be able to add any skills, qualifications or iDEA badges to their MyPLANit as well.

Additional resources: Digital Courses
The platform collaborates with iDEA, the Duke of York’s Digital Skills programme, to help boost users’ digital skills. It’s a free online resource available for all ages to help improve and enhance your employability chances by developing digital, enterprise and employability skills. Find details at idea.org.uk

Career DNA matcher
Businesses’ employees and Explorers take a short questionnaire from 16 Personalities which define personality types. Using this information and other answers from the questionnaire, Explorers will be able to see which employees’ job roles they match with.
